Ok, I have my own domain name, but nothing is on it yet. I also have a wordpress.com free site, and I have downloaded WordPress.org's 2.9.1 version. Is there a way for me to have these all the same? So when someone types in my domain name or my wordpress.com web name, they'll get the same site, plus I'll have the benefits of using wordpress.org, with plugins and stuff. Right now I work on a website for another company who has the wordpress.org downloaded on it, and I love it and love the options that it has, but I am clueless to how to go about doing this. Can you please help!!! Thanks!

So when someone types in my domain name or my wordpress.com web name, they'll get the same site,

To move from wordpress.com to wordpress.org self-hosted blog:

Note: this is assuming you have a registered domain

    1. Get a hosting account and ask them for the correct name server info
    2. Visit your domain registrar and point your domain's name server to your host
    3. Wait for your domain to resolve properly (2 to 48 hours)
    4. Install WordPress at your domain (see Installing WordPress)
    5. At your wordpress.COM blog do Administration > Tools > Export
6 At your domain's newly installed WordPress do Administration > Tools > Import->WordPress using file from step 5

OK, thanks! So I am exporting to where? My computer somewhere? Then importing it from there to my newly installed WordPress?

Also, I do not yet have a webhost. I did not realize that I needed one to have a website. I DO have a registered domain: http://www.creativecreationsbycm.com. Are there any free or very inexpensive web hosts out there? I'm just giving this a try and do not want to spend a ton of money, I actually wanted to do it for free, but I broke down and purchased/registered my own domain name.

You would do the export/import thing if you wanted to export the posts/pages/etc from your wordpress.COM blog and then import that file into your newly installed blog at your domain.

You will want to click on several of those links I provided to get more info.
