[resolved] switching from static front to blog page loses all titles (3 posts)

I currently have wp in a directory and displaying in root, although there are some issues with that.
I have a static front using front-page template and the blog page using 'default' template (what that really is i am not sure) I have both loop-index.php and index.php in the child of twenty tens folder.
When I change from static to blog posts-- the blog page does not show the titles or meta data. Although this page displays fine if using static front.
My pro bono client wants to lose the static front.. there in is the issue.

I have checked hataccess, the root and directory index.php and all seem correct.

    Any ideas?

    thanks

That may be due to the theme you are using. Try switching to a different theme to see if you get the titles. If a different theme shows titles, look for an option in the theme you are using.

grr the board ate my post...
in a nutshell I reinstalled in the root with the same child of twenty ten theme that I have on several installs working fine, and the problem did not repeat. The install had a wonky feeling any way, so this is good.

    thanks
