I am a novice at wordpress for the most part, but my friend who knows even less about websites asked me to help him make a basic site. He had someone else set up joomla on some web space but that's pretty much it. I don't really want to start from scratch with Joomla so I would like do get rid of it and replace it with wordpress on his server space. I have the FTP login for it so I can see the joomla files, but do I need some kind of access to the 'php my admin' as well to create a database for wordpress? If so, do I need to delete his current joomla database?
