Swap Out Title With Title Image (6 posts)

    I created a simple title image using a specific font in Phototshop and I would like to replace my title (h1) that is currently there now. I would still like to keep it linked as it is now.

    I tried the Designing Headers doc but I'm still a little stumped.

    Any help? Thanks.

    I ended up creating an entire header image with all text included and then made it clickable. It works!

    Using onclick javascript is not recommended.

    You should try using:

    h1 a { text-indent: -9999px; display: block; width: (width of img); height: (height of img); background: url(img.jpg); }

    .. replacing the accurate values. That's all.

    You can put images in the header and rather than use image slices with all sorts of complicated code and messy tables, it is best to use css and do roll overs that way with the a and a:hover using specific divs, instead of javascripts and so on.

    I'm working on something which will allow a header to have a roll over menu using css. It would be quite a long css sheet if you were to use ten or twenty divs with seperate rollovers, but I think the image file size could kept to below 50k even with 20 odd rollovers.

    You could do an advent calendar this way.

    The header needs resizing.

    Do it so that it covers just the top of the main and sidebar, it hangs over a little, and is easily solved.

    It is a nice design, but i'd also look at that header and perhaps do it in a png as it would look real sharp, unless you've gone for a specific grainy or blurred look.

    Actually what I did was open header.php template file and changed the

    <div id="header">

    to:

    <div id="header"onclick="location.href='http://www.thissavageart.com/';" style="cursor: pointer;">

    It simply seems to work, no?

    LiverpoolLad:

    The grainy look was intentional. When you say the header needs resizing are you referring to that dotted line on the navbar? If that's the case that has something to do with the bar and not the image from what I can tell. It is in the original Emire and actually I would like to get rid of it. Any clues?

    Thanks for all your help.
