I asked this question eariler, but I think I said it wrong. I am looking to see if there is anybody that subscribes to my personal blog feed (not the feed to my questions in this forum)

I have a wordpress blog here

    http://www.christianpreschoolprintables.com/blog1

and in my stats its showing that the feed page is getting hits, but I want to know if that means actual subscribers or what? Is there somewhere I can check this function?

    Thanks, I appreciate it,

    Valerie

Anyway, I'm still wondering about finding who or if anyone subscribes to my blog feed....anyone?

I wonder about this, too! I don't know where to go to find out.

I don't even know if I have a feed page! Should I fill out a form for one? I know I have rss symbols.

It's kind of hard to monitor exactly who reads your feed. You can read your server-log stats or any other stats for a clue of incoming referrers but it doesn't break out feed subscribers.

One way to do it is to use Feedburner which is a website, that you can send all your feeds thru them using a WP plugin and it counts your subscribers and gives you stats. Some people like it, some don't, I don't use it myself as of yet.

@dawer you have a feed (actually several feeds) automatically. If you just click on one of the RSS symbols it probably will display the raw feed code in Firefox, but anyway, you could right-click the symbol and copy the address and then subscribe to it with a feed reader

DGold, thanks! I notice on my Sitemeter, on the Entry Page section, some visitors stats say: mysite/pagetitle/#comment-24, and go up each time it happens, like #comment-25, etc. Since I only have 17 comments, I think this may be a person/persons who subscribed to comments. I'm just wildly guessing.

It gives me my own post titles when I click on it, but nothing about other people subscribing. I'll look at the plugin, thanks.

I also get confused with this and with the Subscribe to Comments plugin. I thought I would automatically get my comments mailed to me, but no. I have to visit my own page. But I don't know why someone would sign up for Subscribe to Comments when they could get it from Rss. Is there a difference?

Nope. Those are propbably trackback spam (and, eventually, comment spam) caught by your anti-spam plugins and eliminated, but the numbering being incremental... your next real comment will have #26.

    Moshu, thanks!

It took me a couple of days to realize that WP was very efficient, and has a tab marked Subscriptions, under the Manage tab! And it also gives me all comments, under Comments! Things were happening that I didn't know about!

Never found out what the Sitemeter was talking about...

One thing about Subscribe to Comments: When I look at the comment box, all I see is a box. No text that tells anyone they can subscribe. Even when I log out, and come back, the box does not say what it does. Is this a bug?
