[resolved] suppress notification of "WordPress upgrade available"? (4 posts)

Is it possible to suppress notifications of WordPress upgrade for certain Roles?

Sometimes the WordPress upgrade process is very easy, other times a little more complicated (generally depending on the web host, I find)... and for certain clients we don't want to have to upgrade every single time WordPress releases an update. So if the client logs into the back end as a Role other than Administrator, it would be great if we could suppress the message that says "your wordpress software is out of date"... is this possible?

Also, 2.7 might do a better job of this:

Good call Moshu. Here's specifically what the post said:

Edit the wp-admin.css (under the wp-admin directory) and add "display: none;" to #update-nag section. (it's near the very bottom)

The one thing is, it's not near the very bottom, at least not in the installation I tried. But it does work... you just have to close the window and reopen, relogin to make sure the new CSS loads properly.
