sup tag not working in current theme

hi,

i’m new to wordpress and just starting to get my site up and running. still very new at css.

i am trying to put a sup tag in one of my pages. but the current theme i am using, cleanr, does not seem to recognize it. in another theme, it does work, so i assume it has something to do with the theme.

can anyone tell me how to fix the theme so it recognizes the sup tag? any help will be greatly appreciated.
