   Well, on the 'Reading' section under Settings in the dashboard of my blog, there is an option asking how you want your posts to show up on the main page. I selected 'Summary' rather than the full post showing. Yet, it STILL shows the whole post causing my home-page to be flooded and almost never ending because of how long it is. Is there a way I can fix this or is there a plug-in/extension I can use for it?

   Thought I'd give this thread a bump as I'm having the same problem. Any progress your end?

   That setting under Settings > Reading is for your RSS feed, not your website.

   If you want to display excerpts of your posts on your homepage, you need to use the_excerpt() function instead of the_content() in your index.php.
