Hi all.
I am looking to have an unmanaged VPS hosting. and I have a few related questions:
- Who offers such plans? (I know that site5 currently don't)
- How much is it (usually?!) per month?
- What considerations might I use in choosing who to work with for such a hosting plan?
- Any general tips/warnings on the topic would also be welcomed.

HostGator.com offers unmanaged VPS hosting starting at $19 a month.
I can't recommend Host Gator or GoDaddy. I've had clients that have had terrible performance problems with both. Just my personal experience.
I've had a positive experience with GoTekky.com.
I also like Media Temple, although after their recent security issues I might have to rethink that.
Closing this thread. Web space recommendation threads are notorious spam-catchers, quickly become outdated, and WP.org already has a hosting recommendations section. For other hosting questions, you're best to research through Google and friends/colleagues to get a balanced view.
