Events Manager
[resolved] Suggestion for improvement (6 posts)

    It would be great to have the option to search by location title/name of the place.
    I was just looking for an event plugin for a public library which has three branches in the same city but with the current search, patrons can not search by branch. In other words, we can't use search by city/town because they are all in the same city.

    We were looking to buy the pro version so we could create different booking forms but without this feature I guess our search will continue to find another Events' plugin.

    If this could be implemented to the soon to be released v5.5, that would be amazing.
    Thanks

    I did, but that is only for cities, towns, states and countries.
    The search form should have a dropdown for Location Name (#_LOCATIONNAME) so users can filter it better. This change would help your plugin to be used on local events websites (events that happens on the same town and usually people know it by the event name).

    Thanks.

    Hiya,

    That's something you could probably add yourself if you are comfortable with development. We will consider it as a future feature in the meantime though.

    Thanks,
    Phil

    based on your reply on another topic, since it seems you're comfy with coding, it'd be quite easy to do, but you need to add the field to your search form yourself:

    http://wp-events-plugin.com/tutorials/adding-custom-event-search-form-fields/

    you could use the above method to create a select field called 'location' and the options can be done like so:

    echo EM_Locations::output('<option value="#_LOCATIONID">#_LOCATIONNAME</option>');

    hope that helps!
