Hello,
I am currently installing the suffusion theme on my blog which is hosted on WP 2.9.2.
I am very happy about this theme, very complete but ... big problem with the drop down menu. In the configuration section it corresponds to main navigation bar setup.
I can add pages to the menu, but not categories.
If someone could help me I would be very grateful.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
There is a whole section for it that says "Categories in Navigation Bar" in the "Main Navigation Bar Setup", where you can select what you want to display. Are you saying you don't have this available?

I have the same problem. The "Categories in Navigation Bar" is there in the "Main Navigation Bar Setup", but the tab is not showing up on the site. Pages and Links are both showing however.

Thanks for the tutorial Sayontan, and the theme. I really want to love it. But as with the others on this thread. I'm not able to see categories in the main nav. Home page and all pages are there. Links show too. But no categories. My site is askeliclark.com to see what I'm talking about. I've selected to show the main nav, show top level cats, and show all ignoring next option. Advice?
What is your category structure? Which version of WP are you on? You could create a navigation menu if you are on WP 3.0 - that will let you add any categories you want to the menu and you can add the menu to the navigation bar.

I'm on 3.0. I have each post assigned to one category, but none of them show. I guess I'll have to learn about this menu thing you talk about.

I looked at menus. The problem here for me appears to be that each time I add a new category, I'd have to manually add it to the menu. I'd be OK with that, though my client will ideally not want to work that hard when I turn his site over to him. I really like the concept you have in categories where I can "use all ignoring next option." Yet none of the categories are showing in the nav bar at askeliclark.com. Any other ideas?
Are your categories hierarchical?

I fixed my problem by adding a post to each category, only then did they show up. It looks like empty categories won't display.

Yes, they are hierarchical.

Hello,
The tutorial link doesn't seem to be working. I just set up suffusion yesterday and wanted to set up both nav bars right away. I can not seem to add more tabs to the main nav bar. I can't even see the top nav bar. I can add pages, which I was hoping to be the headings of my nav bars. Please help. Thanks.
Works fine for me. Which link are you trying?

I didn't see the updated link at the bottom of the page. It answered all my questions. Sweet! Thanks so much:)
I love the theme...the more I go though it, the more things I find I can do. One thing I haven't found is how to disable the Pages and Categories drop down menu in the header. I already have my menu built with each page item showing up beside the drop downs. I won't have any blog entries either so no need for the categories menu.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
@Pinglis,
Did you see the tutorial referenced in the threads above? That explains how this is to be done.
Sayontan.
Thanks...I watched the tutorial and it explained it perfectly. Well done on the theme! I will gladly buy you a few cups of coffee for your efforts.

Sayontan hi and thanks for the amazing suffusion.
Since I found out about it last month I have suggested it to so many people!
My question is: I am trying to make a site for myself, and creating different pages. A magazine landing page, a page with book covers I design, a page with my artwork and a page with my blog.
Now I used the post template for the last three, the two not taking comments and the last taking comments.
My question is, how do I control where everything goes when I create a new post?
My assumption would be through categories, and then possibly linking each category with each page design?
Please lend me your thoughts.
Thanks
