    Hi all,

Out of the blue i am having this error message on my site..

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in ....wp-content\themes\suffusion\sidebar-in-header.php on line 21

I didn't update WordPress or Suffusion, it came out of the blue.
When i google for the issue you will find 1000 more sites with the same problem, but no solution.

Some-one able to help? Sayontan, can you help? It looks like it is related to Suffusion. Sidebar-in-header looks like this now:

[Strange b.t.w. because inside the file you are speaking about displays the widget-area-above-footer, while the name of the file is Sidebar-in-header]

When you need more information, don't hesitate to reply. Thanks.

    Jackass

    Why you think that?
Then 100 others are hacked also.... if so, then i wonder how the rabbit found the hole....

The code you posted contained a very large clock of eval'd code - the standard hallmark of a hacker and something that Suffusion, itself, doesn't contain.

I know there are more sites with the same issue. (Google on the error and you'll see). Please give your remarks!
If i am hacked, i wonder where is the open door... WordPress? Server? Suffusion? etc....

I have a backup, but putting the same backup back is only a matter of time before the hit again. (if it is a hack...)

    Please give your feedback...

Unfortunately many sites get hacked every day. :-(

    where is the open door

Impossible to say from here but your hosts might be able to help to some degree with this via their access logs. Please do see the links I posted above. They contain valuable information on how to completely clean your site.
