[resolved] Suffusion Sidebar dsiplaying at bottom of page (10 posts)

    I made a change to the order of some of my widgets in the left column and it caused the sidebar on the right to suddenly display at the bottom of the page. I immediately reversed the order of the widgets back to what they were but it did not fix the fault.

    I have since removed all sidebars and deleted all widgets and this did not fix the problem

    In the theme options i have toggled between 1 and two columns and where sidebar 1 and 2 are displayed (left or right). If I set them both to left then they both display on the left and neither of them display on the right if I try that.

    Can someone offer some advice please ? I think someone who knows what they are doing could spot the problem with Firebug very quickly :)

    my site is http://www.dancarrphotography.com/blog

    thanks!!

    there might be an extraneous </div> somewhere, either in the content of one of the posts or in one of the templates;

    see validation report: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dancarrphotography.com%2Fblog&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

    This post has the mismatched tags: http://dancarrphotography.com/blog/2012/08/15/hitech-100mm-modular-filter-holder-review/. If you look at the text above "(unnecessarily?) Deep plastic thread on the 105mm adapter", you will see that the markup is botched there.

    Aha ! Thank you sir!!

    I was looking in completely the wrong place for the error. I thought it must be in the sidebar.

    This is now fixed! :)

    Thanks for your awesome theme.

    B.bpalaceweb,

    Have you tried the suggestion from Alchymyth or other similar threads?
    http://wordpress.org/search/sidebar+displaying+at+bottom?forums=1

    If you want to discuss, create your own thread on this issue.

    I'm having a similar problem on my website: http://www.604munchies.com

    I chose to have the sidebar on the right, but on my site when it loads, the sidebar widgits are all on the bottom of the page? I'm unsure of how to fix this..

    Thanks in advance! :)

    @604munchie,
    Rather than posting to a resolved thread, you should consider starting your own thread for this kind of an issue, which is typically due to user errors. If I run your page through Validator I get some mismatched tags: http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.604munchies.com%2F. One of your text widgets doesn't have a closing tag, which might be causing your problems.

    I am actually having trouble ordering my widgets on Sidebar 1 (in Suffusion) I have set the order on the Appearance>Widgets page, but n viewing my site, they are in the wrong order.
    My site is here:
    http://www.rerdownloads.com

    By the way - is the Aquiod forum down? Else I would have looked or posted there...
    thanks

    Please don't post on threads marked "Resolved" a long time back, when you haven't created the thread - cross-posting is against forum rules.

    When you have enabled "Drag and Drop" on the front-end, it will seem to you like your widgets are out of order. That is because front-end Drag and Drop uses the Docking Boxes JavaScript, which stores a cookie. If you have visited your front-end with Docking Boxes running, a cookie gets automatically set, and that overrides any order that you define in your site's back end.

    To disable front-end drag and drop, go to Suffusion Options → Sidebars → Sidebar 1 → Drag-and-Drop for First Sidebar and disable it. If you are using Sidebar 2 instead, you need to disable the corresponding option under Sidebar 2.
