HI, One single page on my site suddenly has a 403 forbiden error.
    the page is http://www.davidmattock.co.uk/cv/

Ive tried deleting the page and recreating a new blank one with nothing on it and it still says forbiden.. any ideas why ? all other pages on http://www.davidmattock.co.uk are fine

    thanks

Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting. If that works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

HI Thanks for your reply. I changed it to the defaults and it worked fine.. but then i changed it back to /%category%/%postname%/ and it dosnt work again ?

I read that using permalinks page before thats where i got /%category%/%postname%/ from.

The crazy thing is, Ive had this page "CV" for ages now and its worked fine.. why suddenly now does it change to this 403 forbiden but no other page does this ? I dont want to use the default permaliks as the are ugly

any ideas how i can resolve this one page ?
Im not using any blog at the momet its just pages
    Thanks again

Check with your hosts that mod_rewrite is still enabled.

Hey thanks again for your quick reply.
Can you explain what this mod_rewrite does ?.. All permissions must be ok because I can view and make changes to any other pages... why just this one.. and why was it ok before ?

I tried deleting the page and recreating a new blank one called CV and it still the same, very strange

    dmattock,
    As Esmi suggested:

Check with your hosts that mod_rewrite is still enabled.

Your host may have made a change. Send a support ticket to your host and bring the issue to their attention.

HI thanks again for your replies.. The mod_rewrite was enabled.

I fixed the problem.. was my own stupid fault... I created another folder called "cv" in the root of my ftp which had my pdfs in, I thought it wouldnt conflict with the page caled "cv" as i presumed this would be in my themes directory.. is this not right?,. where do pages i create go ?

thanks again for your help and sorry for my lack of experience

where do pages i create go ?

From your admin panel you can create 'pages' or 'posts'. If you have something that you perhaps scanned and wanted to use as a 'page' you could load it into the upload folder through your ftp (like you would an image) if it's named as a .jpg or .gif file, or you could upload it directly into a post or page from the admin panel using the add image tool, (again assuming it was saved as a .jpg or .gif file).

Would that work for what you need to do?

HI, its ok, i just wondered where pages i create go, like http://www.davidmattock.co.uk/animation/ where does the animation folder get created .. cant see it with FTP was just curious.

for images im uploading into my own folder and normal html to show them, as i dont like them all in being in the same folder that wordpress offers.
    thanks again, all the best
