[resolved] Succesfully moved wp to root, but old directory name can't be used (3 posts)

I've done extensive searching and can't seem to find anything about this particular problem, so here it is:

I created my wordpress site in a directory named 'blog', thinking it would just be for my blog.

I ended up recreating my entire site with wordpress, and once that was finished moved the wordpress to my root. This went very smoothly, no issues and everything works fine. My 'home' page is now the index and I have my 'blog' page set to be the posts page.

This is where the problem lies. The 'blog' page won't take the name 'blog', it auto-corrects it to be named 'blog-2'. I'm assuming this has something to do with my old directory not being fully removed, but I did delete it and am not sure where to find any remains.

Anyone heard of anything like this before, or can possibly help me find a solution?

Ah! Ha well I feel like an idiot, but in my defense I am new to this thing...

Thank you very much, I was about to go crazy I think.
