I don’t know whether this is a JetPack problem or a WordPress 3.6.1 upgrade problem; but ever since I upgraded both last weekend, my subscriber notification system has not been working.

My subscribers have gotten used to getting email notifications of new posts, which typically were received within minutes of a my publishing a new post. I subscribe as well, so that I can see what my readers see. Last weekend I upgraded to 3.6.1 and activated a couple of new JetPack features (I believe they were: Carousel, Connect, Likes, Tiled Galleries, Mobile Theme, Omnisearch and—strangely, as it was already installed and working prior to the upgrade—Subscriptions).

When I published my next post (2 days ago), I noticed that I a notification never went out (I didn’t get one, and some readers pointed out they didn’t get one either). I published another post yesterday and again, no notification went out.

I maintain my own site and WP installation, but my technical prowess is middling at best, so any and all help appreciated!

Resolved. Odd, but embarrassingly simple in the end.

I called my host (webhostinghub) and it turns out there was no problem with email at all—it was indeed going out. It turns out that both me and the two subscribers who told me they didn’t get the usual notification email had all of our recent WordPress emails end up in our spam folders (we all have the same berkeley.edu-supplied gmail, so apparently berkeley.edu or gmail tweaked their spam filtering settings).
