These are the files I have in my plugins/subscribe2 file.
    buttonsnap.php, README.TXT, s2_button.png, s2_marker.png and subscribe2.php
my subscribe.php I installed into the root of wordpress as directed.
    Why is this so difficult?

Update to the latest version of the plugin, v2.2.2.

    Viperoo7Bond..that IS version v2.2.2…??

The only way i could get the subscription page to work is by putting a link to subscribe.php in my sidebar. friends have entered the fields and sent..but they get a blank email, and I get nothing from them. The same for my contact form, i get no emails through them.

back to subscribe2..I tried creating a page and putting the tags in it..then it was a page on my sidebar. when you clik it, you get a page that has that tag and that’s it..

I wish someone would post the instructions step by step..for dummies like me.

Well the latest version of subscribe2 has no subscribe.php file that you put in your root WordPress directory…

But there is, right in the README.TXT file that comes in the plugin’s ZIP file.

As it says in there, you no longer link to a PHP file (subscribe.php) where people can subscribe like you used to have to in the older versions. Instead, you create a WordPress Page and place <!--subscribe2--> somewhere in it’s content.

Go read the readme, it explains it all step by step. 😉

I don’t know if you have since resolved your issue but I had the identical issue and just resolved it.

I noticed that my email templates in the menu OPTIONS/SUBSCRIBE2 were blank. It was these blank emails that were being sent.

I then noticed that at the bottom of the page there is a button called “RESET”. I pressed this and the templates refreshed only now they contain the required text. The emails are now sent out and are no longer blank and better still they correctly send out the confirmation link.

    Hope this helps you.
