Fruitfly: I'm getting there but something about adding that paragraph about unsubscribing screwed up a few other items in the e mail template based on the e mail notification msg. I just received.
Here's what the template looks like:

In other words, "You may view my latest post at" should be followed by the permalink which somehow has migrated upward in the e mail. And my name and e mail are missing at the close of the msg. Could the paragraph I added about unsubscribing have messed this up in this way? If so, can you think of anything I can do to straighten it out?
Of course, it's possible since I'm getting irregular buggy behavior fr. the plugin that this may straighten itself out in tomorrow's notication.
