    Hi!

    I’ve installed Subscribe2 and it is not sending any emails out after I post. I have it set up so that the email address is coming from the domain name, and I installed the Configure SMTP plug in. If I send an email from Subscribe2 manually it works fine but whenever I post nothing sends. I tried deactivating and reactivating the plug in, with no change. Since this is my first time installing Subscribe2 I’ve never had it work before to say something has changed– I am just setting up the blog so have only added 2 people to the subscribe list so the number of emails going out is not the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!

    @smcd,

    Install this plugin:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/email-log/

    It will allow you to see if the emails are being generated. If they are then the emails are being blocked or dropped on the server. If not then it’s probably a configuration issue.

    Hi! Thank you for getting back to me so quickly! I added the Email log plug in and added a new post and there is nothing in the email log. If this is a configuration issue like you noted does that mean it is something to do with the plug in or something else?

    @smcd,

    Go to Subscribe2->Settings and then the Registered Subscribers section. Make sure you have no checks in the “Excluded Categories” section.

    Then go to Subscribe2->Subscribers and check in both tabs that you have at least one subscriber. Make sure that the Public Subscriber is in the ‘Confirmed’ filter list and click ‘edit’ below a Registered Users email and make sure they are subscriber to all categories.

    THANK YOU!! The first part was fine, it was the Subscribe 2- Subscribers section where I found my error. I did not have any public subscribers just registered and the registered weren’t subscribed to anything even know they weren’t excluded.

    It is working now!

    Thank you again! You have no idea how much I appreciate your help!

    @smcd,

    I’m glad it’s working. Sometimes it does turn out to be something simple, basically with no active subscribers the code was bailing out early because there was nothing to do.
