Subfolder Installation Login Goes to Root of Website - Wrong! (6 posts)

    Hi,
I have installed WordPress in a subfolder of my site and when I click the login link on the left side it redirects to the root folder of my website, not the subfolder where I created WordPress.

The default blog is plain vanilla to say the least, just a white page, no CSS.

    Blog is at http://www.21stsoft.com/web-design-development-blog/.

Iny ideas on what happened here?

    Thanks,

You issue seems to be that you set the link of WordPress to "http://21stsoft.com?step=2", it should be "http://21stsoft.com". To fix this, you need to login to your WordPress administrator account, click on Setting and modify the WordPress Address field to remove the "?step=2" part.

Yes, you put in the wrong siteurl when you installed.

Thanks for the help. Otto42, I did as the tutorial said and that fixed the problem.

I did the installation a few times and didn't see where I was supposed to add the path to the blog. I also read the installations in this effort. Did I do something wrong?

    Thanks again

    Hi,
Likely you did nothing wrong and the install simply hung at step 2. I have this happen from time to time on installs.

Thanks samboll. Without an option to change paths I was in the dark. Void as it were.

Otto42's answer worked for me, but I'll look into the code (as time allows) to see if this can be fixed.

Incidentally I also had to change another MySQL entry and if anyone needs it I'll provide it.
