When first installing wordpress I wanted to have the wordpress files uploaded to a subdirectory of my database, so I did. Later on, when figuring out how to create the rest of the static site proved to be impossible to understand, I deleted all files from the database in order to start over. Next I uploaded the wordpress files to the root directory of my database and tried to continue the installation, as I did before. However, this time, when logging in via http://www.domainname.com/wp-login.php, I automatically get redirected to http://www.domainname.com/subdirectory/wp-login.php.

    What is the problem?

In settings general you need to change urls to your domain name if you have wordpress files and folders in root.

Thats only possible when you can log in of course. The answer came from some google-search site (or post?) about phpMyAdmin and changing the options of my database. Thanks anyway.
