Subdomains not working with GoDaddy (3 posts)

I'm attempting to setup the WP Subdomains Revisited to create a page from the main website WP for subdomain dev. For example:

    http://www.p3webdesigns.com/

    http://dev.p3webdesigns.com/

No issues with my projects in development, for example:

    http://dev.p3webdesigns.com/careersinmining/

I have added the subdomain to my GoDaddy account several months ago with no issues. Didn't see the need to have a sub-domain page until now. I've tried a few solutions to resolve, for example:

    1. Changing the folder permissions to 705 and 755. No luck!
    2. Edited the .htaccess file to manually add the sub-domain. This broke the links that do work under the dev folder.
    3. Deleted cache and cookies. No luck!

The only thing that come to mind is the DNS settings aren't correct. Correctly dev is set as an A record, not a CNAME - GoDaddy automatically set it up this way.

I'd like to help you if I can.

You mention that you've tried some solutions and they aren't working.

What are the results you're looking for and what errors are you experiencing. Let me know some more details and I will see what I can find out for you.

I havent tried it myself so far, but I think you may not create a new folder when you create the subdomain.

Choose "create or select a folder" and select "/" (if your wordpress installation is in the root of your domain).
