subdomain multisite on MAMP

    i am trying to install wordpress multisite with subdomain on MAMP and MAMP PRO 2.05.

    i followed those tutrials on perishablepress, esposito musings, markea and this forum topic.

    When creating the network, in wordpress admin/tools/network settings, i don’t have the subdomain option. A message says :

    Because you are using localhost, the sites in your WordPress network must use sub-directories. Consider using localhost.localdomain if you wish to use sub-domains.

    any idea on how to have the subdomain option available ?

    Do you know how to jimmy your hosts files to allow fake domains? Like francoisromain.loc? You can use that and make sub.francoisromain.loc
