• At my site (in my profile) I installed this. I am unfamiliar with the termonology, so please be patient. I can successfully login as admin, but when i attempt to create a new blog, it sends the email saying user:pass and a link to the new blog. When that link is clicked, i get a not found error.

A rep at godaddy.com told me i may neet to install a mod_rewrite plugin which i cannot seem to find anywhere. I have searched this form and am nothing if not confused. I even went into the setup and turned on the plugins, and when i click plugins from the main menu it tells me there are none installed. There was also a link to a plugin repository, i went there, searched for that plugin, but it doesn’t exist in there. Am now at a loss. I do not see new subdirectorys being created for the new user anywhere. From looking at the folders included, it looks as though there is a special directory in one of them for subdirectories to be created in. Is this right? Do I manually create the subdirectories? if so, then where?

I am not a programmer so please keep responses as clear as possible. Thanks.

  • but when i attempt to create a new blog,

I am unclear as to what you mean here. If you log in, you’re already *at* your blog. You can’t create a new blog from the old one. If you want a second blog, you must change the table prefix in your wp-config.php file and install to a new directory.

So if you could be a little clearer as to what you mean, that would be good.

neet to install a mod_rewrite plugin

There is no such thing as a “mod rewrite plugin”. If mod_rewrite needs to be installed, then your host need to configure the apache httpd.conf file to allow you to use mod_rewrite. If you have access to that file (which I doubt – but you may) you can do it yourself. Otherwise, your host has to turn it on for you. It’s a server thing, not a WordPress thing.

I do not see new subdirectorys being created for the new user anywhere.

Subdirectories for what? What are you trying to do? There are no “subdirectories for new users”.

I think you need to be a little more clear on what you’re attempting to do here. Your question is a bit convoluted.
