   So i have my wordpress installed on my root domain http://www.example.com
   and im trying to put another website (non wordpress) in a sub domain like http://www.forum.example.com, but i make the sub domain and i added a text index.html file to check to see if it works. And the http://www.forum.example.com just opens up the wordpress site on example.com. Could i get some help?

   Normally, what you describe is only a problem when you have created a Network within WordPress and used an * (asterisk) A record to define subdomains for WordPress to use in creating multiple sites on your network.

   Probably talk to your web hosting company. Some allow you to manage your own domain records, which is what the A record of * is.
