I'd like to use the in browser editor to play around with stylesheets that are NOT located in the home directory.
As in, http://blabla.com/wp-content/themes/bla_bla/css/menu.css
Is this possible? I don't want to list all of the styles sheets in the home directory.

No. it's only list home directory files. and my recommend is not to use browser editor for CSS or coding. bcoz there is a huge chance you might miss or type something wrong. so best option is use a web editor.

So, is that a "Well, that's a bad idea anyway" no, or a rock solid NO, not possible. No matter what.
Sometimes, depending on where I'm working, FTP is blocked. =(
