[resolved] style.css found by WordPress, but referenced images not loading (6 posts)

I am working locally so I unfortunately do not yet have an example to show everyone. My problem is essentially that WordPress is recognizing my new template but when I choose my template the images that are referenced in my style.css file are not being displayed.

I confirmed that the correct css file is being referenced and that the images are in the specified path.

Aside from missing tags (<div>, <span>, etc) are there other possible causes for this type of issue?

cant tell you unless you link us to the website, it helps even if its not all finished. it can be any number of things. are the permissions set right on the images themselves?

I am running it locally with xampp and haven't uploaded it yet, so I would be surprised if it is a permissions issue but I guess it is possible.

If I cannot sort it out within the next few hours then I will try to get it online so that I can link it.

okay sweetie. Getting it online (if you cannot find the problem via trouble shooting would be the next best step IMO.

    Ah, silly problem...

I overlooked <?php bloginfo('stylesheet_url'); ?> and hardlinked my stylesheet instead.

The apache error logs tipped me off that the file was being requested from the wrong location.

Guess I should set this as resolved.
