   I'm trying to set up my theme so that the first post is styled and feature prominently on top of my content area, while my older posts are displayed with a new style (and in a separate column below). Here's a link to a mock-up of what I'm talking about.

   Mock up.

   The latest post is on top, the older in the left column, add'l content on the right.

   I have checked out several topics on this, but I just can't seem to get it right. Any help would be much appreciated.
