    Hi,

I’ve been using Duplicator for a while now and never had any issues but I’m trying to move a site and it’s just stuck scanning forever.

I’ve done a search and downloaded the developer version (think it may be the same as the main version now) but still no luck. In the thread that suggested this version, it was said that WP being in French was causing the issue.

This is interesting as I’m using WPML and have the default language set to Dutch. Could this be my issue?

Any suggestions or help would be great.

    Thanks!

  • That is odd… You may have to submit a support ticket and I can look at your system closer…

    Hi,

I had the same problem recently, being stuck at the scanning stage. It happened suddenly on all my websites, on several websites on different hosts.

I partially solved it by downgrading to duplicator 0.5.2

without any other changes, it worked for me.

    note :
all websites were on wordpress 3.9.1 – in french. I tried deactivating other plugins or toying with file permissions with no luck.

Maybe you can give it a shot. it takes 2 minutes to downgrade and test.

@cory – this was on a local setup – I’m planning to move live soon so I’ll give it a test again once live and submit a ticket if I’m still having an issue.

@evaluationvigie – I ended up using WP Move for the time being (which won’t be a long term solution) but I’ll give downgrading a go. The last time it worked for me was 0.5.4 so I’ll give that a go and see how I get one.

    Thanks for the replies!

Yeah its tough to tell what the issue might be without looking at it. If your get JavaScript errors then sometimes that can be related to another plugin…

    hooray !

Just figured the last duplicator update (0.5.6) – published July the 9th.

it is working for my websites.

So, only duplicator 0.5.4 had this problem of being stuck at “scanning site” stage on all my wordpress websites.

    Thanks for the update @evaluationvigie

Maybe I´m stupid but since 3.9.1 I only come to the Scan page. It says “Scan Complete” but then what? I have no button that says “Build” or anything like that so don’t know what to do. With previous versions I have never had any problem.

I´m running the latest standard release of WP.

    Hey @smicksmack,

Checkout this section on the FAQs I believe it may help with this issue:
    -> Browse to: http://lifeinthegrid.com/duplicator-faq
-> Find section: “1. Package=> Why is the user interface is not working correctly?”

If that doesn’t work then you can submit a ticket and I’ll take a look at your system…

    Hope that helps!

I’m having the same issue with version 0.5.6 running on WordPress 3.9.2

Checking the javascript console I got the following msgs:

Consider using ‘dppx’ units, as in CSS ‘dpi’ means dots-per-CSS-inch, not dots-per-physical-inch, so does not correspond to the actual ‘dpi’ of a screen. In media query expression: print, not all, (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio: 1.25), (min-resolution: 120dpi)
    admin.php?page=duplicator&tab=new2:22

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘RPT’ of null
    admin.php?page=duplicator&tab=new2:738

    Hi @mmuller-br

That particular JS error is related to a browser css style and should not have any impact on the scanning of the site. Did you happen to see if the plugins log finished successfully?

    Hi,
I do have the same error of being stuck at “scanning site”
    I’m using 0.56

Any other thing I should try?

    Thank you!

    Guillaume

PS: I did successfully use your plugin once with another website.

The window shows that it passed in all parts of the scanning.
Apparently it’s just not showing the buttons to move forward with building the package.
Could it be this is the case with with the js style problems?

Sometimes these issues can be related to other plugins that inject scripts and styles. Have you tried the plugin on a stripped down WP site?

    Hi,

I tried to deactivate all plugins, same thing…
    Scanning website…

    Should I update WordPress? I’m using 3.2.1

    Thanks

    Guillaume

    I’ve updated to 3.9.2

    It’s working!

    🙂
