Just started to use this plugin and set it to do a files and database backup once every week. My files/database is currently around 300mb.
However, while the database backup has completed, the database and files page hangs on "creating zip archive".
Any clues?
I got same issue. Try disabling and re-enabling the plugin

This should have been improved in version 2.1.

Could you retest with version 2.1 and see if your site is now able to backup?

I have updated the plugin to the new version and I'm currently testing it. So far it has been running for about 20 minutes and is, once again, stuck on "creating zip archive".

Just updated to latest version. It doesn't get stuck on creating zip anymore but I don't think it is completing correctly.
After about a minute of running the backup, the page refreshers with this in the url:
....wp-admin/tools.php?page=backupwordpress&reason=broken&hmbkp_schedule_id=backup
...I'm guessing that can't be right?

Yeah that still means something isn't working.
Could you email support@hmn.md and I'll help debug the issue further.
