[resolved] Stuck in a logging in loop (4 posts)

I created a WordPress website on my local computer, and today uploaded it to a hosting site. When I uploaded the site, everything worked fine, then I noticed the links between pages were still referring to the 'http://localhost:8888/', which is how the links between pages worked locally. I went into the dashboard and (excuse the vagueness) found somewhere where I could change from 'http://localhost:8888/' to 'http://www.mywebsite.com'.
Since I did this I can no longer log into the WordPress control dashboard at all. I have gone on to the MYSQL wp_users table and changed the password in there thinking that was the problem, but when I try and log on, I type in my username and password the address bar changes from this:

    http://mywebsite.com/wp-login.php

    to this:

    http://mywebsite.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%3A8888%2Fblog%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

Now I can't log on to the local site OR the uploaded site without getting the same redirect in the address bar which seems to be sending me around in a loop, never getting beyond the log-on screen.
I have absolutely no idea what to do next. Any help at all would be very gratefully received.

    Matt

First see Changing_The_Site_URL, then review Moving_WordPress.

Esmi and GovPatel, thank you both so much for your prompt reply. I tried Esmi's suggested link and it worked perfectly. I cannot thank you enough!!
