    Please can someone give me a idiots guide to redirecting a domain mountgrace.za.net to my wordpress subdomain http://mountgrace.timeoutbookings.co.za/

    I been following Otto's Tutorial on http://ottopress.com/2010/wordpress-3-0-multisite-domain-mapping-tutorial/ but get confused in step 4 when it comes to working with the DNS in the CPanel
    "you will need to edit its DNS settings to actually point to your server IP or CNAME or whatever you do to make the domain connect to your server."

    I parked the domain mountgrace.za.net on top of the wordpress install domain ttp://timeoutbookings.co.za/ but get a error
    "New domain already exists."

    I’ve had a look at the Simple DNS Zone Editor in the Cpanel, but am not too sure what to fill in, if someone could direct me please..

    then you alreayd have a webhosting account for it or use it as an add-on domain. you need to remove that first.

    I'm not too sure how I did it but I seem to have got it working using a CName. It seems that when I checked in the CPanel with the Simple DNS Zone Editor the CName was already defined, so I used it the Domain Mapping.

    The problem I have now is how do I map multiple domains to diff sub-domains on my site as I can only map one it seems..

  5. You can map as many as you want. Unless you mean you want to map domain1 domain2 and domain3 to masterdomain.com/site1 ...

    I have a number of sub domains which I want to map to domain names ie;
    http://mountgrace.timeoutbookings.co.za/ to http://www.mountgrace.za.net
    http://mistyhills.timeoutbookings.co.za/ to http://www.mistyhills.za.net
    http://glenburn.timeoutbookings.co.za/ to http://www.glenburn.za.net

    this way I can keep all my sites in one location and easier to update. The problem is that in the Super Admin under Domain Mapping I can only include one CName.

  7. You need to go to the Parking menu in cpanel. You can park as many domains as you like. they go on top of the MAIN site and the domain mapping plugin directs them to the right original subdomain site.

    I've parked the domains under the main site, but unless I include the Cname it doesn't work. I'm obviously not following something correctly

    I'm think its working now as I said before not sure what I am doing but now its accepting the domain names without having to set the CName.

    For anyone reading this and is also a little confused with DNS, CName and other site related terminology, I found a interesting site that explains it pretty well http://support.easydns.com/tutorials/DNSsetup/
