    Hi,

I’m trying to get your plugin working and am struggling with getting the correct images to display by putting values in the ids/tags area. Can you provide more advice as to which id to put in there please? Is it the id of the image from the media library, or the id of the section, or the id of the individual product?

Using a tag from the tag list doesn’t seem to work either. Just nothing is displayed (there’s nothing in the source html), this is the code the button generate:

    [cafepress products=”shop:choicegifts|xfit” cols=”2″ rows=”2″ ]

    Thanks,

    Colin

    Hello Colin,

Thanks for your comment. To ensure that your plugin is working correctly, have you updated the CafePress widget to the current version? If so, have you tried to load products that are NOT in your shop (just to see if works)?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Yes I downloaded the plugin only yesterday, so it’s the latest version: v1.0.3 and yes it does work. If I only put in my shop id, then I get items from my shop.

Sorry, I should have done more debugging before posting. My question is mostly about how to use the plugin to show what I want. Through trial and error I now understand that the “design id” means the id of the image in the media basket, which I wasn’t sure on from the documentation (rather than that image on a specific product).

However, am I right that I have no control over which product is actually displayed? It’s just the first ones that comes along? E.g. if I want to show a specific design and on a Large mug, t-shirt and mouse mat say, I can’t do that with your plug in, right? Not unless they are the only 3 products associated with that design anyway.

    Cheers,

    Colin

Actually what I should have said is really what I’m looking for, which is to show design A on product X, design B on product Y, and design C on product Z. The only sensible way to do this is to just put in the specific product IDs.

My reason is that I want to insert links to relevant products in the middle of a post. I think this will get more attention to the products as people are reading down the page.

    Hi Colin,

    Thanks for your detailed feedback.

That is correct – the current version of our widget is unable to display a specific design on a specific product. We have brought this up with our widget development team so you should see another update some time down the road. I apologize for the inconvenience!

Also, to answer your question regarding the short code you pasted above. There was an issue with shop filtering where it failed to filter the product name correctly – this should be fixed now.

The expected result from the short code you wrote should have displayed all product names with “xfit” characters in them from the shop called “choicegifts.” I tested it out and no products were returned on my end. However, there were results for this short code:

    [cafepress products=”shop:choicegifts|zip” cols=”2″ rows=”2″]

Let me know if that helps!

Dude, you are giving away a free plugin, you have nothing to apologise for! Thank you for your time and effort.

    Hi,

I know this topic is old, but I’m struggling with a similar issue. I can’t seem to get the “design_id” section to work. I am not sure if I’m putting something incorrectly in the design_id field. As GuiltyCol mentioned in a post above, the design id is the id of the image in the media basket. I tried putting in the file name of the image, the file name with the extension, and many other things. I’m still confused as to what to put into the design id.

Currently it lists all the products and I can’t get it to show one particular design.
