   Is there a way to force Smarter Excerpt to strip HTML tags from the excerpt? If formatted text is cut off, the text in the following posts pick up the attributes.

   For example, if an excerpt ends with text in bold, all of the text in the remaining posts on the page become bold.

   I'd ask the plugin's developer, but the site is down.

   Consider switching to this one, it works for me on 2.8.6. and even on my 2.09 testsite:
