I am using a modified version of the Magazine-Basic theme, and I’ve run across a strange spacing issue. If there is a URL on a page or in a post, it causes extra space to appear above the URL and also shifts the contents of the right sidebar down so that it is parallel to the URL. This only happens in Internet Explorer 8, and it’s only the first URL on the page that causes it.

Here is the URL of the site. This is just a test site that’s being built and tested before changes are applied to the real site.

If you look at all of the pages that have no URLs (Home, Committees, Events Calendar, Contact Us) you’ll see that everything is fine. However, on the other pages (Clubs, Links, Newsletters), which all have URLs, the problem I mentioned above is present. It’s also happening on every one of the posts, which are listed in the right column.

If someone has some idea on what is causing this and how to fix it, I’d really appreciate some help.

I was able to track down the problem. It was being caused by a tiny code error in the contents of one of the left column widgets.
