When wanting to work on a existing post perhaps edit it, or insert a link, or work on a new post, my page keeps shooting back to the top line... thats ok when one idis on line 2 or 3 but 100 lines firther down this is an irritation that has made me give up wordpress until I can find a resolution.
Neither can I get my links in... as it goes to the top, it seems to wipe out the selection applied to the words to be linked.
Please help

That's tinyMCE for you, if you happen to click 'outside' of the edit area it will move the cursor to the beginning, can be difficult when you're posting in images or links.
So what you do is make sure that you click the position that you want what your pasting in to be at until you see the flashing cursor where you want it to be.
Unfortunately if you click any empty space on your browser it will 'go back to the top'.
So make sure you click the media uploader or alt-tab without clicking inside the browser area other then the text-area.
I'm pretty sure that's a tinyMCE thing because it happens on all browsers with me as well.

Posted 2 years ago #Note - with WordPress 2.8.3 you can use MS Windows LiveWriter (free) to create posts and post them to your wordpress blog.
There are probably other apps available as well.
