Strange Occurance - Writing New Page (3 posts)

Ok, I am just a web design student.. but I do have about 10 wordpress blogs up and running, and have never seen this..

A company that hired me to webmaster their site, asked me to create an employee area, where their HR department could come in and post different things, and employees could comment back, plus have employees receive email updates with new posts.. I said, no problem.. WordPress with a few plug ins is perfect.

That was a week ago.. Since then, I have been beating my head over this:

I am writing a page.. up to a certain point, it is fine, but as soon as I add one more word, or letter, or digit, or anything.. the page crashes with a internal server error:

    "Apache/2.2.15 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.15 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at http://www.xyz.com Port 80"

If I back up to the last word typed, it saves just fine.. to better understand what i am talking about, see this video (click to full screen for best view):

I have created 5 pages, this is the only one with the error while doing this, this is also the longest page.. so if it has to do with length, that's why I didn't see it until this one (though I can write 3000 words or whatever, in every other wordpress site I have).

I have tried an earlier version of WP (2.9.1) ..it acts the same.
I have tried a default WP theme ..it acts the same.
Newest version of WP, with and without this theme ..it acts the same.

    Other things to note:

This site has done a few weird things for me that no other has.

    First fact:
    The original domain was http://www.xyz-123.com
They changed it to http://www.xyz123.com so people could remember it easier. The main domain http://www.xyz-123.com redirects to the new one.

I have a program that spiders the site to build a search base for an onsite search engine.. it finds all of the pages/url's, but then turns each page into a subdirectory, and adds a repeat page to it, then creates a subdirectory out of that, and keeps looping infinitely until the urls are like a 1000 letters long.. for instance:

    page1.htnl
    page2.html
    page1.html/page2.html
    page1.html/page2.html/page3.html/.. and on and on

I do not know if this is all related, or what is causing all of these issues.. it is a cpanel site on php 4.4.9

You may be falling foul of the server's security configuration.
