Hi. For some reason an older WP site using 2.5.1 is now showing strange characters everywhere. Mainly were a sentence ends and where an apostrophe was.
There were no modifications on the site in 2 years! They just appeared for some reason long after the site was launched.
Charset is set to utf8 in wp-config. Any advise?
This looks like an encoding problem. Do you know if your hoster upgraded or moved the database? I've seen this happen before by using the wrong character encoding when exporting and importing (MySQL) databases.

did you ever get any answer to this problem. I am seeing the same thing after a failed auto upgrade
