I have strange characters which appear at the end of post URLs on some of my sites and I have not been able to figure out what they are, why they are there and how to get rid of them. For instance, the following URL will add #.T30pivBSSP4 at the end of the URL:
http://www.top10googleresults.com/keep-hosting-fees-down-decrease-cpu-usage-speed-up-your-website/
The above URL will look like this after the page is resolved:
http://www.top10googleresults.com/keep-hosting-fees-down-decrease-cpu-usage-speed-up-your-website/#.T30pivBSSP4
I also noticed that the characters change every time the page is loaded. For instance, at the time of my original post here is the characters at the end of the URL were #.T30pivBSSP4
Now, there are: #.T4Rg_NlB9Eu
http://www.top10googleresults.com/keep-hosting-fees-down-decrease-cpu-usage-speed-up-your-website/#.T4Rg_NlB9Eu
I finally found the answer. The problem was being caused by the addthis plug-in
