I’m getting some odd behaviour with wp-cache enabled on a WP2.5 blog.

If I enable the cache, then attempt to view the blog, more often than not the blog just refuses to load. If I clear my cache and cookies, it’ll then load okay. I can accept that this might be down to the fact that I’m logged in, but it also happens if I try and access the site using a different computer.

    Here’s the sequence.

    1) I log in to my blog and enable wp-cache
    2) I visit the blog using a different computer – the site won’t load (but was loading okay prior to enabling wp-cache)
    3) On that different computer, if I clear the cache and cookies (even though I wasn’t logged in on that computer), the site will then load okay

I’m therefore pretty reluctant to use wp-cache, as I imagine other visitors to my site will have the same problem and will probably just leave and never come back!

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,

    Mark

I had those same issues with WP-Cache back in the day. Found some patches to fix them.

However, WP-Cache is not well supported anymore, but WP-Super-Cache incorporates WP-Cache into itself and includes those sorts of fixes as well as the super caching system. I’d recommend using that instead of WP-Cache.

Hi Otto and thanks for the quick reply.

I tried WP-Super-Cache a while back, but it completely killed my RSS feed (which is through FeedBurner). Has this been fixed now, or had I just done something stupid? (Difficult for you to know I guess, but I just had a default installation).

    Cheers,

I use Super-Cache and feed burner without any issues. I just put “feed” in Super-cache’s reject list and it works fine.

    Hi again,

I’ve just read your comments in another thread and am trying it out now.

    Thanks for your help.
