I have less and less time to work on the plugin. I recently had a bout with cancer and had less inclination to work on it for a while.
I am 100%, but my job is intense and I don’t feel much like coding when I get home.
The plugin has run its course and the spammers are winning. It is time to waste my time on something else.

Don’t tell this, the plugin is very good, i use this from 5 months and it blocked 40760 spammers XD.
I read about the ip related stuff because i’m the one that reported the problem to sfs forum, i’m simply a noob that noticed a spammer registered from the 127.0.0.1.
But now i wish you to have more relaxing days!
Good luck with the cancer, win your or yours battle, take your time and have a nice day 😉
Well, you have my total gratitude for what you’ve done, the plugin has been a fantastic first line of defence.
I hope you get yourself sorted out – and wish you all the very best for the future.
Take care dood !
Keith, you’re also getting to the age where you should be able to relax a bit, not too much, just a little.
I’m looking at the current crop of captchas and see which I like. and couple that with some sort of security software…
I wonder if one of the security app makers would want to buy your plugin to add to theirs?
Just a thought!
One last thing.. I just went into my blog and the Stop Spammer Registrations Plugin is gone??? I don’t remember deleting it… Thoughts? Did it self destruct?
I did not delete it.
It did not self destruct.
I am testing a version now which has many of the features that I wanted to add, but it is crippled in that it no longer uses the spam databases. I am trying to decide if it worth the headaches to support them.
I will work on the plugin for at least another month or two. I would like to leave the last version bug free and with as much security as I can give it.
Keith
Thanks keith, I don’t know what happened either… I swear I didn’t delete them which has me worried… But I’m still hopping someone throws a boat load of cash to buy your work… It’s been a life savor for me…
Hi Keith I just figured out what happened. I wasn’t using the stop spammer plugin widget which loads when you install Stop spammer plugin. So I deleted the widget and it deleted both the widget and the plugin.. I reinstalled the plugin and the widget is also back…
I didn’t realize they were joined at the hip… 🙂 My bad.
That was my mistake. I broke it out as a separate plugin bundled with the main plugin. I am going to merge them back together in the next release.
