Stopped working after upgrade to 2.0.40

After updating the plugin my site doesn’t display the galleries any longer. Instead of seeing the galleries I just see the old shortcode on the website instead of a gallery.

Tried to edit a page. When I click on the “attach to post” button, then I see the new interface but when I save, then I don’t see the expected shortcode but just an image. Changing to HTML view it looks like this:

Even tried to enter shortcode according to documentation by hand, doesn’t work either, page is just showing the shortcode.

I have another site that is still using 2.0.33 and shows none of those problems, but my main site is not showing any galleries any more. 🙁

How can I solve this?

Checked my other site, galleries are still displayed, but the strange behaviour of the “attach to post” button is happening there too. 🙁

Now I tried the following thing:
a) Downloaded the nextgen-gallery directory from my website to my local machine and renamed it to nextgen-gallery-kh
b) Downloaded the 2.0.40 zip file and unpacked it

If the update went good there shouldn’t be much differences between the 2 directories… isn’t it?

$ diff -urN nextgen-gallery nextgen-gallery-kh > diff.txt

$ wc -l diff.txt
38086 diff.txt

38096 lines of differences is quite a lot. So I assume that the update went terribly wrong.

What now? Shall I use the rollback instructions at
http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/how-to-rollback-a-version/
to rollback to the current 2.0.40 vesion?

Too late for now to try out, sleeping time in my timezone. Thank you in advance for looking at this.

Ok, the diff was no diff, it was just ASCII text, with CRLF line terminators vs. ASCII text. 🙂

I went back to version 1.9.13 and now the everything seems to be fine.

I’ve got the same problem.

After click on the “attach to post” button I see gallery thumb, but shortcode doesn’t paste.
When I paste shortcode from hand it’s working, for me is not a problem, but for my clients – it is :/

It’s happen with 2.0.33 and 2.0.40 version on clean WordPress install.
