Hi, can someone tell me what it means when you get a Stop Running Script warning saying that continued use would make your computer unresponsive.

I’m getting this message with this site when viewing on Internet Explorer.

I’ve removed all plugins and checked with the host server.

  • Sounds like a bad plugin or theme. Have you tried:

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Great advice thank you. I’ve done your suggestions for the plugin and theme problems but the error is still there. I’m a bit nervous about your final suggestion re-uploading all files & folders etc – is there a step by step guide that I can follow?

What makes you nervous about it? You are simply uploading a fresh set of WordPress core files. As long you stay away from the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files, you’ll be fine.
