Stop <p> and <br> auto insert

    I’m trying to get the thumbnailed images in my archives to load across the page, and I just realize that WP is automatically inserting and <br> tags for each excerpt. (The archives page calls the excerpts for each entry, which has the thumbnailed image in it)

    Does anyone know how I can stop this?
