Stop HTML editor from stripping my HTML? (2 posts)

I have some simple HTML formatting I used the HTML editor for, but the instant I switch to the Visual editor it strips random tags and I end up with some monstrous looking page.

Is there any way to prevent it from stripping out my HTML?

The visual editor will strip out any invalid code you add automatically. So the solution is to use code that it will not strip out (or even better, make changes to the CSS of your theme) to accomplish the same result.

Are you trying to add a break <br /> tag? those get stripped out all the time. Try a non-breaking space &nbsp; instead. This is a hack, to be sure, but it works in most cases.
