Well I have watched the tutorial on the proper way to unzip the package.
I've read several articles on FTP protocol. Each time I try something new I continue to have the same Kubrick default page on my site. What am I doing wrong, and how can I get the template I purchased to work on my site? Help!!!http://www.globaldrugdebate.com/wordpress

How are we supposed to know what you're doing wrong when you haven't explained what you did or how you did it?

Did you extract the theme to your systems copy of the full, extracted WP version you are using? Did you FTP the entire new theme folder to your domains wp/wp-content/themes folder? Did you CHMOD the folder permissions to read/write? Is your themes folder showing (when viewed in FTP) both the Default theme AND the new theme name in individual folders?

I extracted the theme the full template to my computer using winzip. I then began uploading the various files to the wordpress folders using the FTP. I don't recall CHMOD the folder permission, unless this was the sources file that asked for the password. I will research that and attempt again. Thanks for responding!!! I do see the new theme name in the FTP but not the default.

    flying fish,
It looks like you have uploaded all of you new theme's files into your "themes" folder (http://globaldrugdebate.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/), instead of uploading a folder containing the theme files. Try this:

    1. Log into your server via ftp.
    2. navigate to: /wordpress/wp-content/themes/. You should see the following...

    /default/
    /classic/
    /img/
    index.php
    page.php
    style.css
    category.php
    archive.php etc...

You want it to look more like this:

    /default/ - wordpress default theme
    /classic/ - wordpress classic theme
/your-custom-theme/ - the theme you uploaded.

    Hope this helps

First - you should not upload individual files for your themes. You should bring up the new theme folder on your system with your FTP program, THEN - while the theme name is higlighted - click to upload the entire folder structure with all files and folders to the themes folder at your WP install. Don't know what client you use, but mine (WS_FTP) has an option from right clicking the current folder to CHMOD file and folder permissions with one click.
