• You posted yesterday in original thread http://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-do-i-remove-xx-more-words that this had been fixed and to start a new thread if it wasn’t.

I didn’t see an update to the plugin, so not sure how it got fixed.
Also, it’s not fixed. So here is my new thread….

Here is a screenshot from a post that was published at midnight:

    http://i58.tinypic.com/20f3tcy.png

The excerpt is actually four words: Thursday Audio: from Bodyrock.
This is showing the full text of the post – there are not 8 more words. (Regardless, I don’t want it to show how many more words there are at all.)

In addition (possibly warranting a separate thread, but it’s not a major problem), why is it showing a portion of the large photo instead of showing a “full” thumbnail or even the full version?

We made the changes on WordPress.com servers, so that didn’t require a plugin update. Since your posts go through WordPress.com before to be sent to Facebook, we’re able to change things from there.

I tried to reproduce the issue by copying the text from your last post, but I didn’t get the [8 More words] message. I wonder if this could have something to do with the audio player you’ve added to that post. Do you use a plugin to add that player? If so, could you let me know which one, so I can run some tests on my end?

    Thanks!

Weird I didn’t receive email when you replied. Would have replied sooner.

Anyway, yes it’s a plugin called Flash MP3 Player JW2.3

    Thanks for the extra details.

Could you let me know how the player looks like in your post? Does the shortcode look like this?

    [mp3player width=300 config=fmp_jw_widget_config.xml file=http://www.leeaaron.com/AudioMuseum/Bodyrock/Yesterday.mp3]

    Close, different config file though:

    [mp3player width=290 height=80 config=leeaaronconfig-xml.xml file=http://www.leeaaron.com/AudioMuseum/Bodyrock/Yesterday.mp3]

You’re probably right about the plugin. A different post (without the plugin on the page) went up on Facebook yesterday and it was fine, but today was another post with the plugin and it includes the offending line [8 more words]

Curiously, it showed the full thumbnail this time. Maybe you were able to correct that on your end? Or is that just a random thing?

Could you try to publish a new post including some text before the player, and see if it helps?

You’re using the SEO Ultimate plugin to manage Open Graph meta tags on your site. That plugin is consequently in control of the images that will be sent to Facebook to build post previews. I’m afraid I can’t really help you there.
