I feel like I've tried everything at this point. It started with my getting a blank wp-admin page. Through various approaches I managed to access the admin section, but was still getting blank pages when updating posts, etc. Long story short, I eventually got my site functioning again by going to my host and loading their backed up files of my site; HOWEVER, the next day I couldn't access wp-admin again, despite the fact after I initially loaded the backed up files I was able to get back into the admin section.
I have now tried to follow the advice posted here:
http://smackdown.blogsblogsblogs.com/2008/06/24/how-to-completely-clean-your-hacked-wordpress-installation/
But when I go to wp-admin/upgrade.php, I get a database connection error (yes, my config file is correct).
I don't know what to do, and I'm becoming increasingly frustrated. If I loaded my backed up files yesterday and the site functioned fine, but screwed up today, is it feasible that my site was hacked? I'd think if my files were hacked, and I just loaded previously hacked files, that the site wouldn't have been functioning at the time I loaded them, not the next day. No?
I've loaded my database backup file, which didn't make a difference one way or the other.
My site is http://www.elderguru.com
Anyone have advice?
If I load my files from 24 hours ago I can access the site again (it wasn't 2.9.2), but I suspect it'll just go down again.
PLEASE HELP!
