    Hello Frank,

    I installed your plugin and activated it today. I found it because a website was talking about the Google Page Speed test error I was getting and they recommended your plugin would fix the issue.

    Not sure why, but nothing happened. I did optimize JS, CSS and HTML from the plugin settings screen. Google's Page speed test still shows me the error Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content. If it helps, this is the error from Google:

    Remove render-blocking JavaScript:

    /…-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.10.2
    /…s/jquery/jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=1.2.1
    /…hemes/hueman/js/jquery.flexslider.min.js

    Optimize CSS Delivery of the following:

    http://fonts.googleapis.com
    /…300italic,300,600&subset=latin,latin-ext
    /…t/plugins/author-hreview/style/style.css
    /…t-form-7/includes/css/styles.css?ver=3.6
    /…nt/plugins/light/css/jquery.fancybox.css
    /wp-content/themes/hueman/style.css
    /wp-content/themes/hueman/responsive.css
    /…themes/hueman/fonts/font-awesome.min.css
    /…ns/wp-pagenavi/pagenavi-css.css?ver=2.70

    Would appreciate any help.

    PS - I am new to WordPress. So, please explain in a little detail :)

    for anyone arriving here with the same questions; main problem was with W3TC configuration. enabling W3TC page cache, disabling W3TC minification and disabling W3TC debug output in ht HTML allowed to take full advantage of autoptimize.

    Hi Gary;
    I'm afraid those all are external css- and js-files, for which autoptimize does not do any aggregation or minification.

    ben52; javascript that is excluded from being autoptimized (or autoptimized but forced in head) is render blocking. the only solution is not using jquery (plugins) that need to be loaded from the head-section of the HTML.

    CSS is another thing, there's some info in the FAQ and in this blogpost of mine.

    Morning Poak;
    The google-fonts-one can't be solved by autoptimize, as ao only works on local css/js.

    for the autoptimize-css; you could inline your css (which in some cases does and in some does not make sense) or defer loading of part of your css (which is not that easy). there's more info in this blogpost.

    hope this helps,
    frank
