• I need to import Blogger into Word Press so that I can move my blog over and start posting from Word Press. Is there any way to escalate this. I’m willing to pay for help if I can get it resolved. I really want to start using word press instead of blogger.

I’m not getting any kind of error, it just isn’t working. Please help. Somone, anyone.

  • For Self hosted wordpress of free wordpress?

Hi – I’m having a very similar problem.

I’m self-hosting wordpress (on Bluehost), and want to import my blogger blog of more than 600 posts and 900 commnents. I go to tools- import, follow the instructions.

It starts to import, but only reaches 1/656 posts, and 1/900 comments, then says, “set authors”. I don’t do the authors thing, but can’t see any posts or anything…

    Solution! (if you’re self-hosting)

Okay, so a few months ago, this thread was posted in the support forums:

    To quote mercime,

    1. create free account in http://wordpress.com/
    2. Manage > Import > Blogger – don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t work first or second time – just make sure that you have the correct username and password
    3. After you import from Blogger, Manage > XML Export > All and save to computer.
    4. Open self-hosted WordPress and Manage > Import > WordPress. Sometimes, you can get it all imported in one go, other time, need to go through import process more than once.

This worked for me, like a charm! Hope this helps you and others, too.

PS – wordpress sort of needs a better support-search function:-)

This didn’t work for me and I’m running out of options. Any other suggestions?

Yes, the workaround is not functioning as Google Accounts is not saying that “wordpress.com” is not registered for access. This still requires resolution.
